The Two-Faced WAD

I guess I’ll treat these little side articles as something like a magazine, I guess.

If you know what WAD (Where’s all the data) files are, you may have heard of only one kind. A WAD file is made to be like an iso, meaning that it holds all the data. You probably downloaded a wad for USBLoader GX or something, or you have a copy of Doom 2 lying around. Me mentioning Doom probably got you. Every Doom game up until the 2016 re-release also used WADs for their game, in fact, Doom invented them. Now imagine shooting demons when your Wii was supposed to run USBLoader or something. The WADs you use on the Wii do the same, just made in a different way. They’re designed to hold all the data, so Nintendo had no choice if they wanted to use the file type. I want to tell you one more thing, though.

Never use a Doom WAD on a Wii, just don’t. If I don’t know what it does, you shouldn’t do it because I’m on the Internet.
